Dr. Patrick Vance of Ireland settled in Lexington, Virginia, but his descendants moved mainly to Greeneville and Jonesborough, Tennessee, and eventually Kingsport, Tennessee. His son, William Kirkpatrick Vance, settled in the Greeneville, Tennesee, area and raised a family of eleven. Those children spread to Georgia, Texas, Alabama and other parts south and west but leaving several prominent families in Tennesee. This is the complete story of Dr. Patrick and William Kirkpatrick with a list of every known descendant.
